These are a Few of My Favorite Things....
🎶“Houses at twilight and drone mounted cameras…” 🎶
The first best part of shooting this house was that it’s right in my neighborhood. And my other favorite parts were were the twilight photo shoot and putting up the drone on a perfect autumn bluebird day. Photographing at dusk is and art and a science and as Tom Petty sang, “the waiting is the hardest part” (and yes, that’s Tom Petty & Maria von Trapp quoted in the same post! Achievement unlocked!). Once the sky darkens enough it’s a flurry of activity getting shots at each of the previously scouted angles. Back at the my computer the magic is revealed in post-production; lightening, brightening and enhancing the captured image. Next morning I returned for interior and aerial shots. On a clear, Fall day like this the main concern is fog… but luckily we didn’t experience any. With the Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound in view the drone shots were a dream!
